PR Challenge
Commerce experience platform Nosto wanted to create a PR and content campaign to highlight the growth of cross-border online shopping in order to support its recent integration with ecommerce platform Shopify’s cross-border management tool. This tool, Shopify Markets, helps ecommerce merchants simplify cross-border sales by making it easie to sell into multiple countries from a single store.
Approach
To create compelling content to publish on Nosto’s website and other owned media assets as well as to generate earned PR coverage in relevant target publications, CloudNine PR worked with Nosto to develop a consumer survey investigating the key drivers and pain points that people face when shopping across borders.
The headline finding of the survey reveals that more than half of online shoppers now buy cross-border, but 92% admit to concerns. Their top worries are related to difficulties with ecommerce returns (50%), fears of receiving poor-quality products (47%) and concerns about being sent fake goods (46%).
Results
An in-depth overview of the research was published on the Nosto blog and the findings were also used in social media and email marketing. They are highlighted in sessions at Nosto’s in-person customer events. The press release and PR outreach by the CloudNine PR team landed coverage in 18 media titles, including top US and UK trade publications such as Retail Brew, Total Retail, Fashion United, Womens Wear Daily, Retail Insight Network and more.
The PR activity and Nosto’s broader content campaign helped to generate over 40 backlinks to the blog to support the SEO effort.
