The stories focused on an analysis by Searchmetrics that highlights which news websites are most prominent on Google when Brits search for Brexit news. The findings suggest that the BBC and Independent are the two most visible sites.
The story caught the national media’s attention by sparking a debate around whether Google deliberately favours pro-remain news brands (such as the BBC and Independent) in its search results.
